Township Internet Project
Construction Update
June 1, 2011
Construction of the anchor piers is about to begin and after installed and the concrete has had some time to cure, the erection of the tower will begin. Upon completion of raising the tower and outfitting the radios, testing the links between the tower and Tucker's home base, then installation of individual customers can begin.
Tucker will be handling all signups and installation issues from now on as this project moves forward and please contact their office. Contact me when other issues may arise with Tucker Communications in the operation of GCT Internet Tower System. For now it is identified as Site 1.

Anchor points have been poured and now we wait for curing of the concrete, if first lab reports indicate proper strengths then we may start erecting within two weeks, otherwise we may have to wait a bit longer. Specs for these piers were all oversized to begin with. Power company will be install service shortly and Tower Radios will be install when tower is fully up. Test of the systems will start and hopefully a few days after testing begins we can start the install to our very patients residents waiting for this service. Weather Depending!

We are finally approach the end of construction. Just got the final electrical inspection to conclude and the attachment of the radios and the tower will become operational. I am hoping that testing could start later this week yet, but that will be dependant on weather. First hookup's could very well start next week (August). A long time coming but we are nearly home!

A month and a day but Your Internet Tower has taken it's first breath!!!!! The radio's are beginning to sing and after a short test period subscribers should begin installing. Tucker will be calling those on the list for time and date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Testing of systems was delayed by last Tuesday's night thunderstorm, various lightening hits happen in town and the country side that needed repair and kept us from doing the tower testing for a few days. Yesterday the backhaul was operating with a very good connection speed but it was discovered that the original radios sent out hadn't been calibrated correctly and replacement radios should be delivered on Wednesday. (Time to climb the tower again) It explains some of the weirdness of the signal analysis during testing, but hopefully this will solve the problem. If all goes well, installation could yet begin this week - it has been a long trip but our destination is just ahead!
